I am a qualified person-centred psychotherapist. This means that you and your needs are at the centre of my work with you. I can also work in an integrative way; using expressive arts, grounding, breathing, visualisation and meditation techniques within my practice. Any work we undertake together is confidential. I work with mental, emotional, physical, existential and spiritual issues. How can counselling help you? Being truly listened to with empathy and understanding is the first step towards healing. Counselling makes you more self aware. As you tell your story and explore your past you gradually become aware of your own patterns, tendencies, behaviours and coping mechanisms. You begin to heal yourself through this, by addressing the roots of the issue. You begin take your power back from people and situations; becoming more confident, having higher self esteem and better boundaries. I have had many therapy sessions over the years and this has helped me immensely. This is why I now choose to support others dealing with trauma, heaviness and fear. I know how daunting those first steps are when seeking help and meeting a new counsellor. I can offer you a safe, grounded and compassionate space to explore your world, your experiences, your pain, your discomfort and disconnection. I will empathically hold whatever you wish to explore without judgement or expectation. I seek to empower you and honour all parts of you. You decide what pace you wish to work at and what you want to bring to each session. What to expect in your first session with me During your first session, you will have the opportunity to share a little of what's bothering you. I will then tell you a bit about how I work and answer any questions you have. If you then decide you would like to work with me, we would go through a contract of how we will work together.
